A nutrition panel is public information, printed on every pack. We simply make it readable, apply one published method to every product, and let you decide.

/ About

AahaarScore reads the nutrition panel on Indian packaged food and turns it into something you can act on in seconds. Free for shoppers, and independent of the brands we rate.

/ How it works

We read the label so you do not have to guess. Every pack gets the same (method), every time, and no brand can pay to change it.

Scan

Point the camera at the barcode, or at the nutrition panel itself if the pack is not in the database yet. Either way you get an answer in seconds.

Track

Log a portion of what you ate and watch the day add up against published daily reference intakes. General guidance for an average adult, never personal advice.

Compare

Put two packs side by side at the shelf and see which one actually holds up. Comparison is at category level, never brand against brand.

Flags

High in sugar, high in sodium, high in saturated fat. The things a pack tends to say quietly get said plainly.

Badges

Protein rich, fibre rich, low sugar. The method credits what a food does well, not only what it does badly.

Verified

A brand can confirm its own data and evidence it. Once reviewed, the product carries a Verified mark. Verified means the data was checked, never that the rating was bought.

The rating
Every rating comes from the six nutrition numbers printed on the pack, run through the FSSAI Indian Nutrition Rating method, but not endorsed by FSSAI. Energy, saturated fat, sugar and sodium count against a product. Protein, fibre and fruit, vegetable, nut and legume content count for it.
How is a rating calculated?
Straight off the printed nutrition panel. Some products are entered by us from the pack and are marked Estimated. Others are submitted and evidenced by the brand, then reviewed, and are marked Verified.
Where do the numbers come from?
No. A rating describes what is in the pack, nothing more. A low rating is not a safety claim, an adulteration claim, or an accusation. It is arithmetic applied to numbers the brand itself printed.
Is a low rating an accusation against a brand?
No. A rating is about the product, not about you. We show general daily reference intakes for an average adult and never diagnose, prescribe, or tailor advice to a health condition. For that, talk to a qualified professional.
Does a rating tell me if a food is right for me?
A brand can never pay to change a rating. That firewall is the whole product. Brands pay for accurate verified data, reformulation guidance and category intelligence, all of which are useful whatever the rating says.
Compare
Submit your product data with evidence, we run it through the same method as everything else, a moderator reviews it, and it publishes with a Verified mark. The mark confirms the data was checked. It never means the rating was purchased.
