How it works
Six numbers off the back of the pack, one published method, and an answer you can use before you reach the till.
01.
Scan
Point the camera at the barcode, or at the nutrition panel itself if the pack is not in the database yet. Either way you get an answer in seconds.
02.
Flags
High in sugar, high in sodium, high in saturated fat. The things a pack tends to say quietly get said plainly.
03.
Compare
Put two packs side by side at the shelf and see which one actually holds up. Comparison is at category level, never brand against brand.
04.
Verified
A brand can confirm its own data and evidence it. Once reviewed, the product carries a Verified mark. Verified means the data was checked, never that the rating was bought.
Why AahaarScore
Most people cannot read a nutrition panel quickly, and the front of a pack is designed to tell a friendlier story than the back. We read the back.
Barcode scan
Six numbers off the panel: energy, saturated fat, sugar, sodium, protein and fibre.
Panel scan
One published method, applied identically to every brand on the shelf.
The rating
Half star steps from half a star to five, so small differences still show.
Flags and badges
Separate scales for solid foods and for drinks, because they cannot be judged alike.
Compare
Ingredients listed in full, including the ones the front of pack leaves out.
Daily tracking
Available in English, Hindi, Punjabi, Telugu and Marathi.
